June marks the third-annual “Energize the Ballpark” concert at BB&T Ballpark. The Winston-Salem Dash are once again partnering with Energize Ministries to bring fans a very special concert following the Dash’s 4 p.m. contest against the Down East Wood Ducks on Saturday, June 23rd. The concert will take place approximately 30 minutes after the completion of the contest. Fans can enjoy the show from the seating bowl and will have limited access to the field.
Performers from the ever-popular Passion Music out of Atlanta, Georgia, will be entertaining the crowd with electrifying contemporary Christian music. Passion Music is a Christian organization founded by Louie Giglio in 1997. Known for their annual Christian conferences and their lively entertaining and spirited concerts, Passion has hosted concerts in the United States and around the world. The organization has taken home four GMA Dove Awards and sold over 1.8 million units. Their last album, Salvation’s Tide is Rising, which was released in 2016, debuted at number one on iTunes. Their latest, Whole Heart, is sure to follow in this success.
If you’ve never been before, you’re in for a real treat. These artists and musicians know how to bring the audience into the music, creating an experience unlike any other. This year’s performers include Kristian Stanfill, nominated for “Best New Artist” at the 42nd GMA Dove Awards. Stanfill’s second album, MountainsMove, peaked at number 64 on the Billboard 200chart and number three on the Top Christian Albums list. Audiences can’t help but sing along to the riveting chorus in his version of Whole Heart. This heart-pounding melody energizes the crowd, and they respond with tremendous spirit.
Also performing is Brett Younker, a GMA Dove Award winner for his work on Passion: Let the Future Begin. He has released several solo albums, including TheNew Has Come, Come to the Water and Burning in My Soul. His latest song featured on the Passion: Whole Heart album, Hallelujah, Our God Reigns, is a moving, soulful, electric guitar rendering of this very evocative piece of music.
Finally, there’s the angelic sound of the wonderful Melodie Malone, whose vocals transcend and take you on a journey of hope, joy, and renewed spirit. Hear her sing Ever Almighty and you can feel the power in her voice. But nothing compares to her performance of Holy Ground. Her rendition of this song has been described as none other than amazing, dynamic, powerful, and deeply touching.
If you’ve attended these shows in the past, you know how special they are. If you haven’t yet experienced one, you owe it to yourself to see it in person and witness the captivating enthusiasm, pleasure, and inspiration that pour from these concerts. Bring your family; encourage your teens to bring their friends as well. The music and high-energy performances are well received and very entertaining for young people especially.
