March 2019: From the Heart

Welcome to North Carolina and our crazy, erratic weather! The time of year when you’re not sure if you need to wear a sweater or shorts. From the blossoming trees and daffodils peeking their heads out, one would certainly think spring has already sprung. Perhaps the groundhog was right this year and we will have an early spring, after all! But if I know NC weather, we are not finished with winter quite yet. I think I will keep my sweaters and warm PJ’s handy for just a little while longer.

However, I might get a chance to break out the shorts early, as I have a long weekend trip planned to Florida in March. Going with my hubby to watch a couple spring training games. Fingers crossed for typical warm Florida weather and hopefully it will help abate my spring fever that I started experiencing in February. It should be a nice teaser until I make my annual pilgrimage to Florida for summer vacation. I think I have mentioned many times in the past how the gulf coast of Florida is my happy place. Needless to say, I am very excited about going for a few days soon!

Our March cover features Calvary Day School, and what an amazing education choice it is for parents. CDS has been around since 1971 and is conveniently located off Country Club Road. March is also the kick-off of our annual Summer Camp Showcase issues. March through May issues will feature a plethora of camp ads and information to create the perfect summer for your child(ren). Be sure to mention you saw them in Forsyth Family when you book your camps!

Robin Bralley

Forsyth Family publisher/owner from 2007-2022. She turned over the reins to the very capable Brooke Eagle in 2023 and remains a part of the team as an Account Executive. You’ll also most likely see her stocking magazine racks around town. Robin grew up in Clemmons and has called it home all her life. She has a degree from High Point University and after finding herself downsized from her marketing position in corporate America, Robin joined forces with Forsyth Woman publisher and friend, Keela Johnson to launch Forsyth Family. She and her husband, Tim, have been married for almost 35 years and share two grown daughters, Briana and Morgan, as well as a son-in-law, Briana’s husband, Jonathan and Morgan’s soon to be husband, Deep! She is very excited to welcome her first grandchild in May. Robin and her family are avid music fans and enjoy going to concerts and movies. She loves watching birds on her many backyard feeders and flower gardening. She is an active member of New Day Community Church and feels closest to God on her daily walks at Tanglewood Park with husband Tim. Regarding her favorite thing about Forsyth Magazines, Robin said, “It’s hard to narrow it down to one specific thing, but meeting all of the wonderful people I come in contact with and being a small part of local businesses’ success is top of the list!”
