At the Heart of Real Estate: Meet Jody and Ashley

For most, buying a home is the biggest purchase they will ever make.  And it’s not a simple matter of just picking out a house.  Two of the most important decisions will be your choice of real estate agent and lender.  Working with professionals who not only know what they are doing, but also know the market, is of paramount importance.  Real estate agent, Jody Peske, and lender, Ashley McKenzie-Sharpe, are prime examples of the benefits of a strong team.

Get to Know Jody Peske

After moving seven times in 14 years, Jody Peske is the poster child for understanding the stress that goes along with moving!  She’s successfully translated her numerous relocations (which began in Louisiana) into a career.

Jody has called Clemmons home for 14 years. She has been in the real estate business since 2005.  She joined Keller Williams Realty in 2010, now the largest real estate company in the world.  Jody has a brilliant understanding of our local market.

She’s been married to Cliff for 29 years. Together, they have two college-aged kids, Carson and Shelby, 22 and 21, respectively; they are also parents to two fur-babies, Prissy and Bitts.

Jody is a woman with a servant’s heart and a calling to help others. Since the heart of community begins in the home, her chosen profession is perfect for her. It enables her to serve others by helping them find the place they can call home.

Get to Know Ashley McKenzie-Sharpe

Ashley has an established and demonstrated reputation for expertise as a lender.  Her attention to detail and focus on helping borrowers secure quality loans has earned her the “#1 Lender” title among all of Fairway Mortgage Company’s lending agents in the US!

Originally from Lexington, Kentucky, Ashley now calls Advance home, where she lives with her husband of 11 years, Zach Sharpe. Their canine children are Madison and Piper.

Ashley is a firm believer in quality and knows it’s not always about the bottom line.  Her heart is about the people she serves and making sure she helps them be financially successful in this most important of purchases.

How They Work Together

Jody and Ashley entered the industry at the same time, and with similar work ethics in their respective areas of expertise, they quickly forged a great partnership.  And make no mistake about it, buying and selling a house is a team effort.

Jody said, “When it comes to buying real estate, the buck stops with me.  Whether I’m responsible for the home inspection or not, I will be the one complaints come to.  Similarly, whether I’m responsible for the successful approval of a home loan or not, my clients are going to come to me with any issues.  Because my priority is customer care, it’s critically important that I make sure they are in the right hands for their home loan.  I know Ashley, and I trust her to take care of my clients. In all the years we’ve worked together, I’ve never been disappointed with how she’s handled a situation.  I completely trust her.”

“Understanding the marriage between real estate and finances is a unique dance,” chimed in Ashley.  “It’s truly a cohesive partnership to make sure the client’s best interests are met.  Knowing that Jody has already established a good, quality relationship with her clients enables me to go to her with any questions or concerns that may arise. It’s a great, multi-faceted partnership.”

“The 2018 market is projected to be strong,” disclosed Jody.  “While it’s still technically a seller’s market (except those homes selling for over $400K), the inventory balance is shifting.  A balanced market will have four to six months of inventory, while in recent years we’ve been operating with only two to three months.  A better inventory means more (sometimes better) options for our clients.”

“With more options,” shared Ashley, “I am excited to work with Jody and help our clients finance their dream home!  This is so much fun for me.  I am able to help our clients secure lending that works for their budgets, and help them develop confidence in the purchase process.”

Jody and Ashley are both actively involved in the community, including membership in the Lewisville-Clemmons Chamber of Commerce, and they are prominent sponsors of Clemmons Community Day, an annual event hosted by the Lewisville-Clemmons Chamber.  In fact, Jody is credited as a founder of the event, which attracts around 1500 people each year.

Both women are involved in Women Who Care, a philanthropic group which helps support mothers and children in need.  They also participate in The Lion’s Club, helping with free vision and hearing screening.

“Community is at the heart of everything we do,” said Ashley, as Jody nodded in agreement.  “We both believe in the ripple effect of our actions, especially when it comes to serving others.”

Jody continued, “Whether personal or in business or nonprofit work, relationships are the most important assets anyone can have.”

The work Jody and Ashley do each day may seem like just another job to some.  But for their clients, they recognize the value and importance of these roles. It’s an important service they both offer their clients— helping families have a home.

Dozens of accolades and testimonials follow Jody and Ashley, including feedback such as the following:

  • “Jody was wonderful to work with!! She is very knowledgeable in the real estate business, and she sold our home in no time!!  Jody was our seller’s agent and soon will be our buyer’s agent! My husband and I both highly recommend Jody!”  ~Tammy
  • “As a first-time homebuyer, I was completely clueless, scared, and excited. This is considered to be one of the most stressful things you will go through in life, and it was nice to have people who understood and could walk you through the process with ease. Everything Ashley said would happen, happened. She was there, from start to finish, answering my questions, and calming my anxiety in a timely manner. She exceeded all expectations, and I truly appreciated her positive energy and upbeat spirit.” ~Ashley W.
