From the Heart: May 2019

In the month of May, we celebrate motherhood and remember those who died while serving our country. And are we ever grateful for both!

Moms are an amazing bunch! She’s there to kiss away a boo-boo or dry away the tears from a first love gone south. She makes our favorite meals and tucks us in at night. She stays up way past bedtime to help us get that school project finished that she asked us repeatedly if we had finished two days before. Yes, she’s got our back, she’s our own personal cheerleader in life and always makes us feel special. To my mom, Mary, and all the moms and mother figures out there, we are grateful for your love and support!

To many, Memorial Day marks the unofficial start to summer. It is when many folks make their first trek to the beach in the new year. No one loves a beach trip more than me, but we must not let that overshadow this very important day set aside to remember! I give my eternal gratitude to the countless men and women who gave their lives in order that we may preserve the freedoms we enjoy today!

Our May cover story features Jason Keller of Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial. Jason is a dedicated husband and father to a busy family. He’s very involved in our community and would love the opportunity to assist you with your financial planning. May continues to be a busy month of activities in our community and concludes our Summer Camp Showcase. You asked for it, you got it! Please mark your calendars for our weekend edition of Kids’ Morning Out! On Sunday, May 5th, Legacy Saddlebreds will host our first weekend event at their beautiful facility. It’s a free event, but be sure to register ahead for your lesson time by visiting our Facebook event page. Legacy is always one of our most popular KMO events, and I’m sure this will be even more so!

Happy 75th birthday to my dad, Bobby! Forsyth Magazines is all about celebrating! And our magazine family recently had much to celebrate with Keela finishing her radiation treatments. Thank you for all your prayers and well wishes to get her to this point. We look to healthier days ahead for Keela and continue to pray for those still fighting their cancer battle!

Robin Bralley

Forsyth Family publisher/owner from 2007-2022. She turned over the reins to the very capable Brooke Eagle in 2023 and remains a part of the team as an Account Executive. You’ll also most likely see her stocking magazine racks around town. Robin grew up in Clemmons and has called it home all her life. She has a degree from High Point University and after finding herself downsized from her marketing position in corporate America, Robin joined forces with Forsyth Woman publisher and friend, Keela Johnson to launch Forsyth Family. She and her husband, Tim, have been married for almost 35 years and share two grown daughters, Briana and Morgan, as well as a son-in-law, Briana’s husband, Jonathan and Morgan’s soon to be husband, Deep! She is very excited to welcome her first grandchild in May. Robin and her family are avid music fans and enjoy going to concerts and movies. She loves watching birds on her many backyard feeders and flower gardening. She is an active member of New Day Community Church and feels closest to God on her daily walks at Tanglewood Park with husband Tim. Regarding her favorite thing about Forsyth Magazines, Robin said, “It’s hard to narrow it down to one specific thing, but meeting all of the wonderful people I come in contact with and being a small part of local businesses’ success is top of the list!”
