Brooke Notes: The Publisher’s Perspective

We’re thrilled to bring you our Fall 2023 Home Issue!

From windows to countertops to flooring – we’ve covered it all in the upcoming pages. I’m a big believer in spending lots of time and energy making your house a home. It’s our safe space and where we make so many memories. It’s a place where we breathe easier the second we walk in the door. The cliché quotes “home sweet home” or “there’s no place like home” are said so often for a reason!

I’ve spent the last 12 months slowly but surely decorating my bedroom. From painting and picking out furniture to window treatments, artwork and accessories. Yesterday, we went to a couple of local antique shops, and I found a perfect, unique accessory for one of our nightstands. Spending time intentionally choosing pieces that have meaning to you is my favorite way to create cozy spaces in my home. We’re so lucky to have so many amazing home-focused businesses in our community. You can learn more about several of them in our October issue as well as in our sister magazine, Forsyth Woman!

Speaking of home, we’re featuring the beautiful Allonda Hawkins on our cover this month! Allonda is a well respected realtor in our community, and it’s an honor to work with her. Brooke Eagle

Brooke Eagle is the publisher of Forsyth Woman and Forsyth Family Magazines and the host of the Forsyth Magazines Podcast. She was born and raised in Clemmons, NC and currently resides in Winston-Salem, NC. Though Brooke graduated from High Point University with a degree in Elementary Education, she chose to join the magazines full time immediately after college. Her strong work ethic, love for community and leadership skills have been recognized by others as well! Brooke is the Immediate Past President of the Lewisville-Clemmons Chamber of Commerce, past President of the Professional Women of Winston-Salem (now Triad Women’s Club) and served on the Trellis Support Leadership Council (previously Hospice of Winston-Salem). In addition to her role with the magazines, Brooke is the co-owner of Washington Park CrossFit. Her role with the magazines and the gym aligns perfectly with her personal mission of having a positive impact on the growth and development of her local community. In her spare time, Brooke loves spending time with her family and friends, especially when that time is spent on the water! She loves wake surfing, snowboarding, CrossFit, and being a dog mom to her Bernedoodle and German Shepherd.
