My love tank is overflowing as I write this! I just returned from our annual family vacation. This year, we rented a house in Redington Beach, Florida. If you read my column on a regular basis, you know how fond I am of the gulf coast of Florida. People can’t believe we choose to go to Florida for our summer vacation, but I say “why not?” I mean, aren’t all beaches hot in the summer? Isn’t that kind of what we’re all hoping for when headed to a beach destination? Fun in the sun, right?
This little strip of heaven between St. Pete Beach and Clearwater is like no other to me. We have stayed in lots of different little towns along that area, and they all have something we love. A favorite restaurant, beach bar or ice cream shop. But, the one thing I love the most about this area is the calmness of the water. On the gulf side, you can actually get in the ocean and not get constantly knocked down by crashing waves. I can spend hours on my float or simply bobbing up and down out there in that massive expanse of water. I am truly one with nature and God in this setting!
Truliant Federal Credit Union is our August cover story and what a story they have to tell. As they celebrate their 70th year, consider all they offer the next time you’re shopping for a financial institution. Back-to-school displays abound in the stores and, while we know it’s coming, we have a lot of summer left to live, make it count! The Winston-Salem Open will be in town at the end of the month, so get your tickets now!
Happy birthday to my husband Tim! Can’t imagine doing this thing life without you by my side!
