Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home stays abreast of cultural changes and generational preferences when offering a variety of ways for family members to honor the passing of loved ones. This sensitivity, along with dedication to their motto, “Old Values, New Traditions,” has resulted in the creation of a new facility adjacent to their Silas Creek location in Winston-Salem. The Robert F. Miller Center, named for co-founder, Robert F. Miller Sr., is currently under construction, with an expected opening date in late 2019. This modern new facility will include a catering kitchen, as well as a state-of-the-art sound system.
The Robert F. Miller Center will offer an ideal space for visitations, receptions, and celebrations of life for loved ones. The center can also be used as an alternative to the chapel area, if guests would like a more intimate service. The multi-use room can be designed for a meal with tables and chairs, or as a greeting area arranged to fit the family’s needs. Hayworth-Miller will partner with catering companies to offer menu choices, or families can choose their own catering options if a gathering with food is desired. Options for how this new space can be used to honor the passing of loved ones are numerous. It can be used for a stand-alone memorial service or for a reception in conjunction with a more formal funeral service in the main chapel.
The dedicated staff at Hayworth-Miller seeks to serve grieving families by making the funeral and celebrations of life services as easy and stress-free as possible, while maintaining an atmosphere of caring and quality. The new Robert F. Miller Center adds another layer of options to meet these needs.
Robert F. Miller, Sr. co-founded Hayworth Miller Funeral Home with W. Paul Hayworth in 1961, making it one of the oldest funeral homes in the state, and one of the few still family-owned. Hayworth Miller offers five Triad locations to serve the community—Winston-Salem, Kernersville, Rural Hall, Advance and Lewisville—all of which provide full-service funerals and cremations, customized to meet families’ needs. All of the staff at Hayworth Miller are local residents and understand the cultural traditions of the families they serve.
Yet what may be traditional for one family may not seem so for another. Hayworth-Miller strives to personalize funeral services, even assisting with the creation of new family traditions. Hayworth-Miller is founded on the values of respect, exceptional service, and community involvement. However, as traditions change, they adjust to the community. “We truly want to be part of the community, seen as the neighbor that offers to host, so the grieving family can relax,” comments Frank Miller, President and CEO.
With the passing of a loved one, the gathering of friends and family makes possible the sharing of memories and expression of emotions. Hayworth-Miller seeks to offer the comfort and support so appreciated at such times. With an ever-changing demographic, as people become more transient and communities more diverse, traditions are merging and changing. Hayworth-Miller recognizes the need for their funeral home to become more than a place for services and viewings, but also a place for both intimate and large gatherings.
The new Robert F. Miller Center will be a welcome addition to the already extensive list of options and services provided to grieving families at Hayworth-Miller. Also available are funeral preplanning services, cremation and monument services, and after-care resources/counseling services. Hayworth-Miller also offers a website with obituary services and online guest books, as well as photo albums accessible for additions by online visitors.
“We are here to assist families during this difficult time, allowing them time to be with their loved ones and properly grieve, while providing a warm atmosphere with a knowledgeable staff to assist them and their guests,” says Frank Miller.
The upcoming Robert F. Miller Center will also be available for luncheons, reunions, business meetings, or receptions for any event. Contact (336) 765-8181 for reservations and more information.
