Law Offices of Timothy Welborn – Celebrating 30 Years of Being There When You Need Him

For three decades, Attorney Timothy Welborn has been a trusted name in workers’ compensation, Social Security disability claims and personal injury and wrongful death suits. As he marks 30 years in practice, Welborn is being recognized for not only his legal expertise, but also for his unwavering commitment to helping individuals when they need it most – a mission captured in his enduring slogan, “You’ll know when you need us.”

From North Wilkesboro Roots to a Career Built on Compassion and Justice

Growing up in the closeknit community of North Wilkesboro, NC, Timothy Welborn always had a heart for helping those in need. That passion, paired with a deep sense of justice, led him to pursue a career in law.

“My family has been in Wilkes County for generations and growing up, I spent a lot of time with my grandparents and learned early on to be an advocate for others. I believe my upbringing in a small town shaped my values, my dedication to hard work, my compassion and my commitment to standing up for the vulnerable,” recalled Welborn. After his undergraduate studies at Wake Forest University, Welborn attended law school at Campbell University.

A Career Dedicated to the Client’s Best Interest

After about seven years in general law practice, Timothy Welborn decided to specialize in law that fits him best and uses his beliefs to help others.

“My goal has always been to help people rebuild their lives after tragedy or hardship. Legal troubles rarely come with a warning. An accident on the job, a life-altering injury or the loss of steady income due to a disability can throw a person’s world into chaos. In those moments of uncertainty, I want to be an advocate and a steady presence when everything else feels out of control,” Welborn said.

Timothy Welborn has represented thousands of clients across North Carolina, offering personalized, compassionate legal counsel through complex and often intimidating legal situations, always realizing that each case is one with serious consequences.

“Each client is at a time when this case could make or break the rest of their lives, and that fact needs to be approached with respect and trust. I believe in being frank with my clients, letting them know exactly what my thoughts are on their case and how strong I think it is. Each case is more than a legal matter to me – it’s a person, a family and a story that matters. When a young family loses their father in an accident and the mother and children are left behind, they are counting on me to do my best to secure their future, and that is a responsibility I don’t take lightly. In many instances, pain is misunderstood and often dismissed by those on the outside of a situation, but it is my job to see the loss for my clients and how those losses are going to affect their future,” commented Welborn.

A Reputation of Consistency, Integrity and Results

Timothy Welborn has earned a reputation for his integrity, professionalism and commitment for achieving results for his clients. His practice is built on trust, and many of his clients came to him from daily interactions within the community.

“People remember how you treat them when you pick up your dry cleaning, buy groceries or are out to dinner with your family. They appreciate consistency in the way you treat them and when they need an attorney, they remember me and our past interactions. I believe you should be the same person in daily life as you are in your professional one and that means to always give your best and present yourself with professionalism. Clients want to know that you are there when they call on a Friday at 4:00 p.m. and that you have their best interest throughout the process. For years, I met with clients, and as they decided on how to handle their particular situation, I would say, ‘well, when you get to the point of moving forward and wanting help, you’ll know when you need us,’ That eventually became integral in my TV ads, but it really is the truth,” Welborn stated.

Helping others extends beyond his law practice into his community. “I believe in stepping up for underprivileged children, along with children and adults with disabilities. I am on the board at Victory Junction, a sponsor at Riverwood Equine Therapy Center and also work with giving kids tickets to WFU baseball games, including the whole experience of a hot dog, drink and popcorn. At the end of each baseball season, my firm donates money for every home run hit to Victory Junction through our program, ‘Home Runs for Heroes,’” said Welborn.

Timothy Welborn’s career is a testament to the power of purpose and the impact of compassionate legal representation. From North Wilkesboro to courtrooms across the state, he has spent three decades fighting for justice, and he’s not slowing down any time soon.
