A lifetime career goes by quickly when you do what you love and love what you do; such is the story of Dr. William Kingery, known as Dr. Bill, of Kingery, Rice & Associates, in Clemmons. As Dr. Bill approaches his retirement, after 48 years in practice, the patients he has cared for over the years have brought a smile to him, and he has helped them keep their smiles healthy.
Using the Talents and Skills You Have Been Given
Early on in life, Dr. Bill had a talent in using his hands to do detailed work and a love for medical technology. Combining his skills with his interest in the medical field, it seemed pursuing family dentistry was a good fit for him. After receiving his dental degree, Dr. Bill served as a captain in the U.S. Air Force, using his dental skills in his service. In 1974, Dr. Bill opened his practice and began his career, serving patients in Clemmons and the surrounding areas. Nine years later, Dr. Mary Kingery, Dr. Bill’s sister, joined the practice, both sharing a love for what they do and a passion for patients before, during and after care. Dr. Mary retired and now, as Dr. Bill retires, a new dentist, Dr. Huh, is taking up the Kingery & Kingery legacy, continuing to focus on patients’ needs, concerns and care.
“Many of our team have been with Dr. Bill for 20 plus years, and we have welcomed Dr. Huh with open arms, making for a smooth transition. As a team, along with Dr. Huh, we share the belief that each patient is unique and their care should be tailored to their individual needs. We truly are a family at Kingery & Kingery, seeing those in our team as family members and our patients as extensions of our family. Maya Pounds, administrator and office manager, has been at Kingery & Kingery for 20 years, along with our hygiene team, including Trisha, celebrating 25 years at the practice and a few dental assistants who have also been here 25 years. We all believe in being the team that our patients can trust to address their dental concerns. In the coming months, we will see the practice grow, starting with a name change to Kingery, Rice & Associates, incorporating Dr. Bill’s business partner for the past 20 years, Dr. Rice, into the practice’s name, so stay tuned for exciting days ahead,” said the team members.
New Face, Same Expert Patient Care
Dr. Daniel Huh joined the Kingery & Kingery team, sharing Dr. Bill’s same love for family dentistry. “I have always wanted to pursue a career in healthcare since high school. My desire to serve and help improve the health and quality of life for people, while being able to combine technology, science and artistic abilities drew my interest to dentistry, and was further cemented after volunteering at free dental clinics in my undergraduate years, on traveling dental buses, NC MOM and other groups. I received my Bachelor of Science degree from UNC-Chapel Hill and continued on to ECU where I earned my Doctor of Dental Medicine in Dentistry (DMD),” said Dr. Huh. Dr. Bill and Dr. Huh also share the same belief in what is at the foundation of good patient care.
“I believe it is important to create lifelong relationships with all my patients, while making sure they are receiving the best and most up-to-date treatment possible through continuing education for me and as well as the team; reviewing literature and studies on dental care and treatments to ensure a lifetime of good oral health and happy smiles. I have enjoyed working with Dr. Bill, meeting the patients and getting to know the team. As a team, we take genuine interest in getting to know each patient, so we can provide the most personalized care and comfortable experience possible. After every visit, we want out patients to say, “Wow! That was an excellent experience,” Dr. Huh commented.
