Five years ago, Sam and Susan Platt opened Honky Tonk Smokehouse, offering a different dining experience from some of the long-standing barbecue restaurants in the Winston-Salem area. Honky Tonk has steadily grown each year, expanding from a small take-out only business to a 60-seat dining room with full service catering available. They serve beef brisket, pork barbeque, baby-back ribs, smoked quarter chickens, turkey breast, smoked sausage and chicken wings. Every night, they hand-rub their meats with special spice blends and slow-cook them over a hickory fire until they are “fall-off-the-bone” tender and delicious.
Sam and Susan will celebrate their 5-year anniversary the entire week of July 17th–21st with the following $5.00 dine-in only specials:
- Tuesday, 7/17: $5.00 for 10 wings
- Wednesday, 7/18: $5.00 for 2 brisket tacos
- Thursday, 7/19: $5.00 for a pork or chicken platter
- Friday, 7/20: $5.00 for any sandwich and a regular side
- Saturday, 7/21: $5.00 off with the purchase of two platters
On Saturday from 5:30-8:00, they also plan to offer special music from Nick Branscome. (For a preview, see Nick perform the “Top Billboard 100 Songs,” 2000-2015 on YouTube:https://youtu.be/xHuRb6_cxNU.)
