Food seems to be the easiest place to start when planning any event – themed movie nights included. Two great places to get ideas are Pinterest and Google Images Search. If you don’t feel up to making themed food, another option is to put the food on plates and bowls that match your theme, similar to birthday party themes.
Wardrobe is Everything
Even if matching PJs isn’t your “thing,” you and your family can still have fun dressing up for your themed movie night. After all, dressing up in costumes is one of the best parts of Halloween!
Make it a Movie Marathon or Series
Select movies that have sequels or are part of a series to make it a movie marathon or a part of more themed movie nights.
Add Games
Did you know many family and kids’ movies have themed games to match? Whether you add it on as a before or after movie activity or play it during the movie itself, this is a fun addition to a themed movie night!
Get Comfy
Want to unwind at the end of a hard day with your movie night? Then, grab some pillows or blankets to match your theme.
Simple or All Out
Remember there is no right or wrong way to do a themed movie night! While I mentioned using influencer reels for ideas, it’s sometimes easy to get into comparison mode with those all out plans. But, if you want to keep it simple, that is fun, too! For example, for a Barbie-themed movie night, simply incorporating hot pink into decorations, food and PJs works great. Or, for a Captain America themed movie night, opt for patriotic items.
No matter your theme or add-ons, it’s certainly going to be a fun time your family will cherish together!
