Six Must-Haves for Toddler Moms – Have a Toddler? Save Time and Keep Your Sanity with These Six Items or Traits

While their hugs are oh so sweet, life with a toddler is busy and never easy. Life with two toddlers is complete chaos. As I write this, my two toddlers are 19 months old and 30 months old! Sometimes chaotic doesn’t even do justice to the daily description!

However, among all that daily chaos, I’ve found there are some things that make my life a little easier. These six items or traits are all lifesavers in saving me time or keeping my sanity.

Designated Car Toys

If you have a toddler, it’s pretty much a given you’ll always be rushed when trying to get out the door. You will also want these little ones entertained in the car as much as possible. We keep a kids’ purse with toys for each girl by the door. This makes it easy for when we need to rush out, and they know these are their “car toys.”

Wipe Packs, Everywhere

From pull-up changes to messy faces, wipes are quite literally your best friend as a toddler mom. There is nothing quite as frustrating as when you need a wipe and there are none in sight. That’s why we keep a pack of wipes everywhere…bathrooms, bedroom, playroom, car, table by the door and on the sofa or coffee table.

Numerous Socks with Grips

Tiny socks somehow seem to get lost or hidden in our house, so there are never too many pairs of toddler socks. As the name suggests, toddlers tend to, well, toddle. This means they are already accident prone, so socks with grips are great for traction with little feet that love to run!

Dum-Dums

I’m not sure what it is about Dum-Dums, but they are basically a toddler’s kryptonite. However, instead of taking their superpowers away, it provides a way to get them to be calm, quiet or miraculously behaved, even if it is only for a few minutes.

Patience

While it might be hard at times to keep patience with a toddler, just keep reminding yourself “this too will come to an end.” Plus, it really is true that kids grow up too fast. Seriously, don’t blink!

Grace

When patience runs thin, or it’s just one of those extremely exhausting days, it’s important to give yourself some grace. Don’t beat yourself up if you need to give the kids a little screen time. Also, be sure to occasionally focus on your own self care and well being for a day or even an hour. Toddler moms absolutely deserve a break and time to themselves!
