Dec 2021 “From the Heart”

We’ve almost made it through another year! And, what a year it was! A year of challenges for sure but one that has hopefully brought about more appreciation for things perhaps taken for granted in the past. A renewed appreciation for things that really matter most!

My wish for everyone this Christmas season is to love more and look for the good in all things. Even in bad situations or circumstances, if you look hard enough, there is usually some blessing to be found. Instead of focusing on what you don’t have or what someone didn’t do, focus on what you do have and what you can do. I promise it makes life a lot more enjoyable!

Our December cover features Hip Chics Formal Wear & Village Tuxedo. Kristina and her team at Hip Chics will make your prom-bound child feel like a queen or king as they prepare for that all-important event. It’s been exciting to watch Hip Chics Boutique grow over the years and should surely be top of your list of places to shop for those special gifts this holiday! This issue is filled with lots of fun things to do in December! Kersey Valley has an amazing new family friendly Christmas event that’s not to be missed! Check out pages 22 & 23. During all the hustle and bustle, be sure to take time out for a little icy fun on December 12th for our Kids’ Afternoon Out at the Winston-Salem Annex Ice Skating rink. See page 45 for more details. And, don’t forget tried and true holiday staples; the Festival of Lights at Tanglewood and UNCSA performances of The Nutcracker!

Holidays are joyous occasions for most but can also be a very sad time for others. Special prayers for all those who have lost loved ones this past year. Please remember those folks and let them know you care!

Blessings!
