May always brings a fresh wave of gratitude—and this year, even more so!

With Mother’s Day coming up, I’ve been reflecting on how lucky I am to be surrounded by so many incredible moms. Watching my close friends raise their little ones with so much love, patience, and strength is seriously inspiring. Toddlerhood looks intense—but somehow they make it look fun, and full of joy (and maybe a little chaos, too!). Y’all are rockstars, and I’m in awe of you every day.

I’d be remiss not to give a special shoutout to my own amazing mom. She’s not only been the best role model, but I get to work with her every single day—and I truly couldn’t love it more. And as some of you know… wedding month is here! Gavin and I are tying the knot on May 31st, and we’re beyond excited. It’s a simple, private ceremony with just immediate family—but we’ll be celebrating with everyone afterward in a fun and casual way that feels just right for us.

This month’s cover story features the incredible ladies of Simply Southern Cuisine—and I’m especially excited to highlight them because I find myself stopping in all the time! Whether I’m grabbing something for my own freezer or taking meals to friends who just had a baby or are going through a tough time, this spot is a lifesaver. They have such a great variety (my personal faves: the BBQ chicken, mac and cheese, taco casserole, and chicken salad), and of course, they’re known for their out-of-this-world chicken pies. It’s so helpful being able to gift something delicious that your loved ones can freeze and enjoy on their own time.

Other things I’m pumped about in this issue:
– The beautiful renovation of the YMCA REACH Center at Winston Lake (check it out on page 14!)
– And don’t forget—this is the final month of our summer camp section! If you haven’t locked in those summer plans for your kids, now’s the time. Start flipping on page 34—you’ll find options for every age and interest!

Brooke Eagle

Brooke Eagle is the publisher of Forsyth Woman and Forsyth Family Magazines and the host of the Forsyth Magazines Podcast. She was born and raised in Clemmons, NC and currently resides in Winston-Salem, NC. Though Brooke graduated from High Point University with a degree in Elementary Education, she chose to join the magazines full time immediately after college. Her strong work ethic, love for community and leadership skills have been recognized by others as well! Brooke is the Immediate Past President of the Lewisville-Clemmons Chamber of Commerce, past President of the Professional Women of Winston-Salem (now Triad Women’s Club) and served on the Trellis Support Leadership Council (previously Hospice of Winston-Salem). In addition to her role with the magazines, Brooke is the co-owner of Washington Park CrossFit. Her role with the magazines and the gym aligns perfectly with her personal mission of having a positive impact on the growth and development of her local community. In her spare time, Brooke loves spending time with her family and friends, especially when that time is spent on the water! She loves wake surfing, snowboarding, CrossFit, and being a dog mom to her Bernedoodle and German Shepherd.
