If you want to stay close to home and not break the bank but still get the feel of a small water park, this article is for you! Here are three water play spots you won’t want to miss this summer. From water slides to water playgrounds and even lazy rivers, there is something for all ages and swim levels at these watery places!
Bolton Pool
Located beside Bolton Park, Bolton Pool has splashy fun for all ages and skill levels. For babies and toddlers, there is an enclosed splash pad that provides plenty of safe water play. If your little one is a little more skilled but not quite pool ready, then they will enjoy the zero-depth entry water playground.
The large swimming pool offers lap lanes, plenty of room to swim and traditional diving boards. Plus, there are also regulation-height diving platforms for those that are more skilled at swimming and diving. This is the only place in the city you’ll find them this high and where the annual city swim meet is hosted.

Peter S. Brunstetter Aquatic Center at Tanglewood Park
This is another great destination for families of all ages! There is a large splash pad with water features that is perfect for babies and toddlers and in a separate gated area from the main pool. As soon as you enter the aquatic center, you’ll find the zero-depth entry wading pool with three large water features for younger swimmers.
The main pool offers plenty of space for swimming, two diving boards and two slides (48” height requirement). Finally, there is a lazy river that even includes two slides. There is a good mix of lounge chairs and table seating throughout the pool decks.

Winston Waterworks
This is the newest aquatic park in Forsyth County as it opened in May of 2018. It’s a great stop for water fun and a relaxing cool down on a hot summer day. There is a large zero entry water playground that features a small slide and massive bucket that dumps water. Those looking to relax a little will enjoy the lazy river.
The pool features a large, winding water slide. Requirements for the slide include 48” tall and a green wristband which is obtained by successfully completing the facility’s swim test. This swim test requires swimming 25 yards continuously and treading water for one minute without assistance.
