I’m a little sad to see the end of this series as it’s been so fun visiting and exploring each of the Forsyth County Library Branches. The 10th and final branch I’m sharing is Paddison Memorial Branch, located in Kernersville.
Even if you live in Winston-Salem or Clemmons, this newer branch is absolutely worth the trip. Built in 2018, this branch has a robust offering for local families.
Spaces Designed With Families in Mind
From preschoolers to teenagers, this library is prepared for all ages of youth. The children’s room is massive. It, of course, has books and several computers, but also has large Lego blocks and a play kitchen.
There is a separate, tucked away larger room for teens as well. It has a relaxed enough feel for gathering yet quiet enough for those that need to study.
Where Community Meets Creativity
Like many of the other Forsyth County Library Branches, this one also offers many options to the community. In fact, as a larger, newer branch it might have more than most. There are two meeting rooms, a conference room and an auditorium that holds up to 100 people.
Finally, this is one of three Forsyth County branches that has a Makerspace. This 10-person capacity area has two sewing machines, a 3D printer and tools.
A Peaceful Place Beyond the Books
Last, but certainly not least, the brick courtyard behind the library is beautiful with a simply stunning statue that people can sit on. If you walk a little way you’ll also see there is a small lake for nice watery views. It’s a great place to enjoy your books, let the kids explore and run, or even enjoy a picnic.
