Catie Does Cabinets – Her Passion is Your Next Project

On a daily basis, Catie Jarvis celebrates finding her passion and turning it into a dream job. As a female business owner in a heavily male-dominated industry, Catie is embracing the journey while relying on lessons learned early from her parents.

“I was exposed firsthand to entrepreneurship and work ethic that has definitely influenced my ambitious drive for life,” she shares.

As an avid multi-sport athlete, Catie boasts a deep drive to succeed on her own, so hard work is a way of life. While she’s been in the cabinetry business since 2019, Catie went into business for herself only this year.

“I have a creative side, and I prefer to be hands on. The cabinet industry seemed like something that could satisfy my desire to work with my hands while also being creative,” she shares.

Catie is quickly gathering loyal clients around the Triad and thrives on customers being happy. If it’s something she puts her name on, you know what you’ll be getting!

It’s a busy season, as fall is a common time for folks to plan kitchen remodels with the goal of an updated kitchen that’s ready for holiday entertaining. When she’s meeting with potential clients, Catie starts by determining their ultimate vision – do they prefer a modern or traditional aesthetic? Are there specific functional requirements they require in their cabinetry? It’s important to know if storage is a concern – how they plan to use the space – and, of course, an idea of budget!

With an eye on trends, Catie says white cabinets are still a classic, timeless choice and make the kitchen feel more spacious. “White cabinetry with natural wood tones is also a sought-after option,” Catie adds. “When used on the island or base cabinets, natural wood adds visual weight and elegance to a timeless white kitchen.”

But, adventurous color choices are also popular! “Light blues and greens are a good choice for more moody vibes, paired with a warm-toned gold or brass hardware that creates a nice complement to the cool, neutral tones of these cabinetry color options,” says Catie.

She’s seeing bold colors and patterns for backsplashes, and also for increasingly popular glass tiles (which are surfacing more in varied shapes such as hexagon and penny tiles – quite a modern look). And, yes, subway tile is still in style! For kitchen and bath remodels, quartz and granite are still the most popular, and durable, while lighter countertops are trending as they really open up the space!

“Ultimately, is your dream look one of sophistication and elegance, cool and calm, or something more modern and sleek? We want to achieve your desired vibe and will find a color that aligns with your vision. If the cabinetry color is the only thing changing in the kitchen, we make sure we coordinate the new shade with existing elements in the kitchen,” she adds.

Always focusing on quality, Catie offers a refinishing process that involves a commercial grade spray finish, producing an impeccable factory smooth look. And, striving to build strong client relationships based on her conscientious efforts means everything to Catie. “I have a passion for making people happy while maintaining a reputation of excellence in this industry,” she adds.

Clearly, her clients agree!

Catie’s work is AMAZING! We recently completed some upgrades on a house we purchased last summer, and one of our projects consisted of adding built-ins in our living room. When it came time to sand and paint them, we wanted a professional cabinet painter who could apply a smooth and flawless, yet durable finish. Our contractor recommended Catie, and we’re so glad he did! Her knowledge and skills were apparent upon our initial consultation, and her infectious personality is a bonus! She and Tony were efficient, neat and respectful of our home throughout the process. We couldn’t be more pleased! Thank you, Catie and Tony!” ~ Kerry M.

“I purchased a house that needed a kitchen update – cabinets, backsplash, countertops and hardware. Catie refinished the cabinets in the house, and the job was very well done. Not only did she do beautiful work, but her communication was on point and she was honest and realistic with the timeline, as well.” ~ Larissa N.
