Weeks Hardwood Flooring Doing Business with Family Pride

While their business name keys you in right away that your hardwood floors will be in good hands, the savvy team at Weeks Hardwood Flooring always reminds potential new customers they care for all types of flooring!

With a trusted mix of integrity, expertise, and family pride, Weeks Hardwood Flooring is a shining example of keeping a dream alive.

“Our business is one we have created—and nurtured—from a part-time job to the family business it is today,” says founder and president, James Weeks, proudly. “I am blessed to have two sons who worked in the business during the summers while they were school age, and now they are both adults. They are building on what started 40 years ago, now heading towards the next exciting 40 years!”

Son Cameron Weeks is the company’s vice president, and Luke Weeks serves as a field supervisor.

Before opening their first storefront in May of 2005, the Weeks family had worked from home—and often from their garage! James began laying hardwood as a part-time job in 1979, and soon the business grew to eight or 10 employees, turnkeying hardwood flooring by adding sand and finish, along with supplying first-rate materials.

The bustling business now focuses on hardwood installation and refinishing, with free initial estimates, as well as tile floors, carpeting, laminate, and vinyl plank flooring—ideal for playrooms and sunrooms. They are dedicated to using only professionally trained, in-house crews, and top-of-the-line sandpaper, machines, stains, and polyurethanes, as well as joining with a wide network of reputable distributors.

Based in Greensboro, Weeks Hardwood Flooring is situated just one mile off 1-40, creating an easy drive for customers to visit the showroom. The team also travels to any county that touches Guilford County, including Forsyth, Alamance, Randolph, Davidson, Stokes, Rockingham, Caswell, and Chatham. While most clients are residential projects, the company is seeing an increased percentage in commercial jobs, 20% overall, including local work with Wesleyan Christian Academy, Natty Greene’s, the Kimpton Cardinal Hotel, GTCC, UNCG, and Winston-Salem State University, as well as updates for several buildings at the High Point Furniture Market.

The Weeks team always loves relaying to clients how the beauty of hardwood floors speaks for itself!

“Hardwood floors have an enduring quality to them,” explains James. “They can last for years before they need to be refinished, and even then, it’s only a fraction of the cost of installing a new flooring product.”

Hardwoods also greatly help reduce allergies in the home as opposed to carpet—one of its most popular attributes that has helped increase the popularity of hardwood floors over the last 40 years!

“Installing new hardwood floors or refinishing existing hardwood floors is one of the best investments you can make in your home,” says Cameron. “In terms of value, beauty, style, and impact on the environment, no other type of flooring has a smaller environmental impact, both immediately and long-term.”

Weeks Hardwood Flooring boasts a team of 35 hard-working members, including office staff, sales staff, warehouse personnel, and field personnel, including sanders, installers, and support staff.

“Roughly half our jobs are done in existing homes, and we make customer service our number-one priority,” says James. “We understand being in someone’s home is a privilege, and every employee understands the importance of treating their job with care and respect.”

The staff works tirelessly, with the attention to detail required to do this line of work at the highest level.

“Having our name on every van and atop the company letterhead makes us strive to give each customer the very best job that we can provide,” says James.
