Doctors William (Bill) and Mary Kingery are a local brother-sister team of dentists located in Clemmons, NC, who strive for excellence in giving their patients healthy, perfect smiles. Many years of education, combined with countless hours of hands-on experience, equals results, knowledge, and skills you can count on.
Dentistry—The Perfect Fit for the Kingerys
Although Dr. Bill Kingery and Dr. Mary Kingery came to their chosen professions from different directions, their foundation was the same…parents who instilled in them the importance of being of service to others.
“We have great parents who taught us about the importance of hard work, a strong work ethic, and a passion for helping others. Growing up, I had always been good doing detailed work with my hands, and as my education progressed, I was interested in the medical field, with dentistry appealing to me because I would be helping patients stay healthy, while using engineering and artistry. After earning my dental degree, I joined the US Air Force and served as a dentist, eventually opening up my own practice,” recalled Dr. Bill.
In 1974, Dr. Bill opened his family and general dentistry practice with his sister, Mary, joining him nine years later. “As a 15-year-old watching my older brother graduate, I noticed that there were no women dentists and was told that only men could be dentists. I decided to pursue dentistry and had to create my own path by being one of only six women out of 80 students total in my class. Having received a health professions scholarship, I also served in the US Air Force,” Dr. Mary said. Dr. Mary would join her brother in practice in 1983. With 45 years in practice, Drs. Kingery & Kingery keep their focus on establishing relationships with their patients built on trust.
Going to the Dentist Can Be a Positive Experience!
It’s pretty safe to say that most people don’t look forward to a visit to the dentist. Drs. Kingery and Kingery, along with their staff, strive daily to take away the dread many have. “From the moment a patient walks into our office, we want them to know they matter and we care about their needs and concerns. We know for many, a dental appointment is the last thing they want on any given day; we understand the anxiety and we carefully explain your proposed care treatment plan, and we take time to address any questions. With the advancements in dentistry, including techniques like local anesthetics and relaxation methods, patients are comfortable with their treatment and with knowing they are involved in their own dental health,” Dr. Bill commented.
There’s more behind a Pretty Smile
Everyone likes a pretty smile; it’s the first thing that people notice when they meet you, but your teeth can tell more about you than you may realize. “Gum disease has been shown to have a connection to our overall health. The more proactive we are as dentists working with our patients to keep their teeth and gums healthy, the less chance there is of an issue developing. Today, gum disease can be treated without surgery when addressed early. Regular visits to the dentist and care at home with brushing and flossing are very important in keeping your smile healthy,” stated Dr. Mary.
Beyond general dentistry, Drs. Kingery & Kingery also offer other services, including cosmetic and laser dentistry, implants, whitening, Six Months Smiles® and SomnoDent®, addressing the cosmetic aspect of one’s smile, straightening teeth in as little as six months and dealing with the issue of sleep apnea, respectively.
The dental team at Kingery & Kingery make giving back to their community a priority. “We’ve been involved with the ‘Dentistry for the Heart’ event for many years, donating free services, including extractions, fillings, and cleanings for patients who couldn’t afford it otherwise. Other charitable causes that we work with include Hospice of Forsyth County, Toys for Tots campaign, Operation Gratitude, The American Red Cross, and Special Olympics. Being active members of our community is important to each of us,” said Maya Pounds, financial manager at Kingery & Kingery.
