In many instances, your hair stylist can become a dear friend, because there’s a special bond that occurs during a successful hairdo. For almost 18 years, Sharon Hunley and Jennifer Gordon, both hair stylists for over 20 years, have worked together, even opening their own salon, Enhance Hair Studio, 10 years ago. At Enhance Hair Studio in Clemmons, NC, Sharon and Jennifer have brought together a group of expert and knowledgeable hair stylists with a focus on providing each client with quality care for their hair and skin. For the stylists at Enhance Hair Studio, although they strive every day to do their job to the best of their talents and abilities, they also realize that clients become friends and extended family, and that much more goes on in the chair than hair styling.
“When you are in business as long as we have been, you have clients who you have done their hair, cuts and color, for 20-25 years. We are very fortunate to have clients who have helped us along our way to where we are today. Those clients have become family to us. They share with us their happy times and sad ones; we do whatever we can to help them. It’s those relationships that remind you why you do what you do every day,” said Jennifer. The stylists at Enhance Hair Studio understand that the relationship between a client and stylist is at the foundation of meeting the needs of clients.
“If you spend time sharing life stories over an appointment for color or haircut, you get to know someone, and we believe it’s important to know what a client wants from a service, and we are honest in telling them if that result is possible. The more time you invest in clients, the better you become at knowing what they want and expect; no one is a number here, we take our time with clients. We do a lot of color here and clients know that once you find a stylist who gets your color right, you stay with them!” Sharon commented.
While the Enhance team has their “regulars,” they also have new clients coming in every day, some drawn by the positive feedback they’ve heard from friends and others by the unique boutique items they see in the window.
After you get a new cut or color, an outfit with a trendy edge always finishes the look. Enhance Hair Studio’s boutique offers tops, pants, scarves as well as jewelry with a Boho Chic style. Co-owner Sharon Hunley oversees the boutique and enjoys choosing the lines the salon carries. With a great selection, which is ever-changing, you can visit often and see new designs, all at reasonable prices. Soon the boutique will offer items in plus sizes. The styles are ones you can dress up or down, but all are comfortable and up with today’s fashions. Enhance Hair Studio can also help you with your skincare.
“After trying many skincare and makeup lines, we now carry glo, a line that is natural, but still performs well. No girl wants to reapply her makeup during the day and these products last. These are products that are offered often at spas and dermatology offices and are known to be gentle enough to be used after facial peels. We are also going to start offering facials by glo, too,” Jennifer related. Brow waxing, hair conditioning and renewal treatments are also available, along with hair care products.
The stylists at Enhance Hair Studio know the saying “50 percent of the reason your clients come to you has nothing to do with a comb, a brush or a color bowl” is true…it’s about the laughs you share during a color, a facial or a cut that make the difference in your styling appointment.
