Since joining the Winston-Salem community in 1997, University Dental Associates has set a high bar for impeccable personalized care and comfort in family dental care – that now extends across eight well-respected practices in the Triad area.

Seamless patient care is a way of life here, no matter which of their dental specialties you require, and every provider offers the positive overall experience equal to what they know their own families would appreciate!

That same exceptional care you have come to know from University Dental Associates has recently expanded with a brand new office space at 2287 Cloverdale Avenue in Winston-Salem – and a new name, UDA Cloverdale! With a grand total of 19,456 square feet – that’s more than 8,000 more square feet than the previous Miller Street location – the brand new facility already feels like home, offering the finest care for your entire family, every step of the way.

Besides two spacious general treatment suites, the new practice location includes 10 hygiene rooms, 10 general dentistry operatories, five ortho bays and three state-of-the-art oral surgery suites.

“This new office is more than just a beautiful space – it’s a reflection of our ongoing dedication to excellence,” shares Dr. Scott Tucker. “We can’t wait for our patients to see it and experience the difference.”

Mindful that every patient has unique needs based on his or her overall health, age and aesthetic goals – the University Dental team offers personalized care for preventative treatment, restorative options, pediatrics, orthodontics, TMJ and both oral and cosmetic surgery.

Orthodontics, endodontics and oral surgery are typically the most urgent specialties – especially for families! The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that your child have their first orthodontic evaluation by age seven, where children typically have a mix of primary and permanent teeth. Endodontics treats problems that affect the inside of the tooth, commonly leading to root canals, while the most frequent reconstructive procedures include bone grafting at extraction sites or in other areas of the jaw that are missing teeth – a procedure completed to facilitate the future placement of implants.

Taking care of families also means education is an important part of dental treatment. Between busy life schedules and ongoing family commitments, it’s easy for regular dental care to keep moving down on everyone’s to-do list. Learning is essential, which includes the reminder that the connection between our mouths and bodies should not be overlooked. Poor oral health – including cavities and periodontal disease – has been shown to lead to the increased risk of heart disease, diabetes, inflammation and many other systematic infections.

You may also be surprised to learn that poor oral health can also lead to increased difficulty in keeping blood sugar regulated. Another good reminder for your entire family – gingivitis can manifest itself as inflammation of the gums that includes bleeding when brushing or flossing, and can be an early warning sign of more serious gum disease to come.

Understanding the anxiety and hesitation associated with any kind of treatment or surgery, you can rest assured the skilled staff at every UDA location will be with you during every step of your procedure. Most oral surgeries performed at their North Carolina locations are completed in less than one hour. As the practice continues to grow, the University Dental Associates team keeps a keen eye on all the newest technological advancements that can enhance every aspect of dental care. Providers are using the newest scanning technologies to capture comprehensive images that can improve case-by-case efficiency.

Outside the offices, community means everything at University Dental Associates, from developing common patient care values among the teams, to taking care of the larger community that surrounds each practice location. Examples include contributions to the Ronald McDonald House Foundation, local events such as the Meals for Miles 5K, and ongoing donations of toothbrushes and toothpaste to local schools and other organizations. Endowments for hygiene scholarships at local colleges are another aspect of UDA’s efforts to help care for our local communities.

University Dental Associates offers hours Monday through Thursday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and Friday 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and is available 24/7 for emergencies.
