Top Ten Prom Beauty Tips

Prom is an exciting event!  Everyone wants it to be a perfect night, and of course, you want to look perfect, too. There is a lot to think about when it comes to your overall look.  The hair, the makeup, the dress, and, of course, how it all comes together.  Take the pressure off and read this great list of beauty tips to make sure you will be ready for your big night.

10.) Brighten Your Smile

A bright smile will make you look extra special on Prom night.  But don’t think about this last-minute.  You will need to start a few weeks before.  There is a wide variety of products on the market, from whitening toothpaste to professional whitening options at the dentist’s office.

9.) Get a Tan

This is another thing you don’t want to wait till the last minute to do.  A spray tan is probably the best way to go.  You will want to have it done at least two days before prom, so your glow is just right for prom night.  If you have never had a spray tan before, try it out the month before to see how it goes and help you plan for prom week.  You can also try over-the-counter products, but you will want to practice it ahead of time as well.

8.) Practice Your Makeup and Take a Selfie

Picking your Prom makeup is so much fun, but you’re definitely going to want to practice before Prom Night.  After you pick out all your products, practice your look.  You also want to try out new products you have never used before. So try it all out to make sure the look is complete.  Then take a selfie.  You will know how you will look in pictures, and you will see if your look needs any tweaking before the big night.

7.) Plan a Spa Night

The weekend before prom, plan a spa night with your girls.  Pamper yourselves with lots of different treatments that will get your skin in top condition for your prom look.

6.) Use Cream Shadow

If you want an eye look that will last all night and cover your lid without creasing, cream shadow is the way to go.  This is a great product that will go on smooth and stay where you put it. You will find lots of brands carry this type of shadow and you can get any color you need.

5.) Go for a Matte Lip Color

Shiny lips look great in person, but can be really distracting in pictures. Pick a matte lip color to keep the focus on your overall look.

4.) Don’t Forget the Perfume

Part of a complete look is a fabulous scent.  You might always wear the same perfume, and if so, mix it up a little. Find something fun that will add to your mood for the night.  Put a tiny amount of Vaseline in the places you spray your scent before you put it on.  It will give your perfume something to hold on to, and it will last all night long.

3.) Fix an Unexpected Blemish with Primer

If you wake up on prom day with a blemish, don’t panic. Put some eye-drop solution on a q-tip and put it in the freezer till it is cold to the touch. Rub it on the blemished area. The cold mixed with the eye-drop solution will reduce the size and redness. Also, a little primer will go a long way.  You can use your primer to cover it up before you apply your makeup.

2.) Set your Makeup

Using a setting spray is a great way to keep your look in place and prevent the need for regular touch-ups.

1.) Bring Your Touch-up Bag

Make sure you can fit a few things into your bag to keep you looking great all night long. You will want to have a small hairspray, oil blotting sheets, lipstick, eyeshadow, powder and a mirror at least. If you find your bag isn’t big enough for all you need, team up with your friends.  Everyone can carry one or two things you all can use in each bag. It’s a good excuse for you all to go take bathroom breaks together and catch up on how everyone’s night is going.
