If home is your favorite place to be, think about how much time your family spends in the kitchen – cooking together, gathering around the table after a long day or entertaining friends.
It’s the place where you’re craving comfort, as well as function and durability. Now, imagine an updated version of the most popular room in your home that is beyond welcoming!
Serving the Triad for more than 20 years, ProStone Granite & Cabinetry is a family owned business with two amazing fully stocked showrooms – one in Winston-Salem and the original location in Greensboro – where there’s no shortage of new ideas and design inspiration when you need it most. Whether you’re a fan of marble, granite or quartz, you’ll easily find a stylish choice to love!
The ProStone team and their meticulous process assures your project will be stress-free and efficient, beginning with a realistic, manageable timeline that suits your family’s needs and schedule. Here’s how it starts:
Visualization – If you’re fairly early in your update dreaming and trying to imagine a new look, take plenty of photos or create a rough sketch of the area you’re looking to update. The ProStone team will want to get a glimpse of your vision and hear your expectations for the finished product.
Inspiration – Time to visit the showroom, where you’ll view model kitchens and baths, plus cabinetry in a variety of finishes. The ProStone showroom in Winston-Salem is a destination of designer options for both your kitchen and bath – the two most popular places to launch a much-anticipated home makeover because of the amount of time you spend there. Another detail that sets ProStone apart – they can typically give you a price right there in the showroom. “Most potential clients are impressed that we can give them a price on the spot!” says Ross.
Preparation – A trusted member of the ProStone team will visit your home for a free consultation, take measurements to create a template and provide expert guidance. Then, through the magic of their software program, you’ll see a glimpse of what your completed project will look like – and that same software will keep your project on target and on budget!
Installation – Thanks to a full inventory that stocks around 40 different stones, ProStone stands behind the promise of a quick turnaround for most kitchen and bath projects. Plus, they will only sell you the materials your project needs – never the entire slab. Besides unwavering professionalism, there’s another important detail that sets ProStone apart. “We do not use subcontractors for any of our work,” shares Ross. “Our installers all work directly for us, and many have been with us for several years.”
Updating the kitchen and bath areas of your home is a significant investment and an update that will increase the value of your home. Your family will enjoy this “new look” to the fullest, and later, when you’ve decided to sell, prospective buyers will see your home as “move-in” ready!
For kitchen remodels and general renovations, Ross says he’s also still seeing high demand for quartz countertops – and both quartz and granite have their strengths and weaknesses to consider. Quartz is low maintenance and nonporous which means it resists stains and bacteria without sealing and is known for its durability and varied design options. However, it is not 100% heat-resistant and can be damaged by hot pots or pans. It also lacks the unique patterns of natural stone.
Granite is known for its durability (heat, scratch and chip-resistant), its natural beauty and unique patterns and colors, and being eco-friendly, as a natural material with no synthetic additives. On the downside, granite is porous and may require sealing to prevent stains and bacteria, and may need regular resealing.
As for trends, Ross shares that whites and grays are still very popular, but they are also seeing warmer colors begin to enter the market.
Known for their commitment to excellent communication, affordable pricing and a dedication to the client’s complete happiness with the finished product, ProStone is the respected choice for home projects in the Triad.

“Quartz countertops were installed in our kitchen with a solid slab backsplash. No easy task! ProStone was up for the challenge with beautiful results, and the installers were professional and courteous! David was very informative and wanted to be certain we purchased the product that created the end result we desired. We are happy customers! Thank you, ProStone Granite & Cabinetry!” ~ Suzy C.
“We had a large area, and their price was very affordable compared to some other companies. The communication was good. It didn’t take long for them to come out and do the work once we placed the order. They were on time and had everything done in a few hours. Everything looks good.” ~ Kim W.
“They did a superb job. They were very fast in doing the work, and the response was excellent. We went in, picked out the stone and a week later, they were installing it for us. They got it done in one day and it was perfect. Their prices were spectacular, as well.” ~ Tom G.
