From the Heart: October 2019

Every now and then, I question if what I do with the magazine really matters.  Do people find value in what we pour our hearts and souls into month after month? And then along comes someone out of the blue.  A complete stranger that was thoughtful enough to stop me on my daily walk at the Tanglewood Park walking trail.

One such kind person was Cheryl from Lexington. She was there with her family and stopped me, and asked if I was Robin with Forsyth Family Magazine.  We had a wonderful conversation and I walked away feeling humbled and very grateful for the kindness of a stranger.  It serves as a reminder to always live in the moment.  Take a chance to reach out to others and have no regrets for missed opportunities.  Ever had a moment when you wanted to reach out but perhaps were in a hurry or afraid of the reaction?  I have and usually beat myself up later for not taking the time or having the courage. On the other hand, every time I follow my heart, I’m usually blessed by the encounter. Life is short, so follow your heart, take a chance and see what happens!

Our annual Fall Home Issue features a couple of dynamic ladies!  Ashley McKenzie-Sharpe of Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation and Jessica Ferris of Jessica Ferris Property Advisors at Keller Williams Realty Elite.  Ashley and Jessica would love to help you make the move into your dream home a reality.  Be sure to check out the entire home section for other advertisers just waiting to help you with your home related needs!

October is a wonderful time of year and always full of fun fall activities, as you will see within the pages of this issue.  I’d be remiss not to mention that October is also Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  Please get those mammograms, ladies! And women and men alike, if you notice any changes in your breast, don’t put off having it checked out by your health professional!  It’s not mentioned as often, but men can have breast cancer as well.

Happy 31st anniversary to the love of my life, I am grateful for another year with you.  Every moment since my cancer diagnosis in November 2016 is a sweet reminder of just how blessed we are!

Blessings!

Robin
