From the Heart: October 2018

Thank you, “Fall,” for everything pumpkin spice! I’m excited as can be that Krispy Kreme has my beloved pumpkin spice doughnut in production again! It doesn’t truly feel like fall until they are! Days are getting shorter, leaves are falling and the Dixie Classic Fair is here. Need I say more?!

Fall is also my wedding anniversary and this year we celebrate 30 years. I can’t lie, I’m so proud and happy to be able to say that. I’m blessed that our relationship has grown together and not apart like many do. Happy 30th anniversary, Tim! I thank God every day for sending me you!

October is breast cancer awareness month. For obvious reasons, ladies, schedule those mammograms! For those that followed my monthly installments through chemo, mastectomy, radiation and the first stage of reconstruction. I actually have my final breast reconstruction surgery on October 1st. It will be two years this November since this journey began. And while I’ve received blessing after blessing during this journey, I am ready to be done with it!

October is our annual Fall Home Issue and the cover features Piedmont Sheet Metal. Owner Mr. Bill Cook has an amazing history with this longstanding HVAC company. Fall Parade of Homes will showcase many amazing homes for those in the market for a new home. Lots of interesting home-related articles are in this section, as well as tons of other great content.

Robin Bralley

Forsyth Family publisher/owner from 2007-2022. She turned over the reins to the very capable Brooke Eagle in 2023 and remains a part of the team as an Account Executive. You’ll also most likely see her stocking magazine racks around town. Robin grew up in Clemmons and has called it home all her life. She has a degree from High Point University and after finding herself downsized from her marketing position in corporate America, Robin joined forces with Forsyth Woman publisher and friend, Keela Johnson to launch Forsyth Family. She and her husband, Tim, have been married for almost 35 years and share two grown daughters, Briana and Morgan, as well as a son-in-law, Briana’s husband, Jonathan and Morgan’s soon to be husband, Deep! She is very excited to welcome her first grandchild in May. Robin and her family are avid music fans and enjoy going to concerts and movies. She loves watching birds on her many backyard feeders and flower gardening. She is an active member of New Day Community Church and feels closest to God on her daily walks at Tanglewood Park with husband Tim. Regarding her favorite thing about Forsyth Magazines, Robin said, “It’s hard to narrow it down to one specific thing, but meeting all of the wonderful people I come in contact with and being a small part of local businesses’ success is top of the list!”
