On Friday, November 15, 2024, the Office of Philanthropy and Alumni Relations at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist will host its 20th Annual Cheers! to Brenner Children’s at the Millennium Center in Winston-Salem.
Cheers! started out as a wine and food tasting for friends and family of Brenner and has grown into a fun-filled evening featuring auction items, featured guests and celebrity chefs, dancing, sharing patient stories and even a silent disco – all for a great cause – kids in our community and beyond!
The 20th year is a great reason to celebrate the contributions of our volunteers and generous community members who have all impacted the lives of the children and families served by our region’s only children’s hospital.
“This has always been a special and fun evening for our community to come together to support our children’s hospital,” said Lisa Marshall, Chief Philanthropy Officer and Vice President, Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hospital and Wake Forest University School of Medicine. “This year, we are excited to celebrate 20 years and are grateful for the funds raised to date which ease the burden of childhood illness and injury on families,” added Marshall.
Since 2005, this signature event has raised over $3 million in support of Atrium Health Levine’s Children Brenner Children’s Hospital. Funds raised from Cheers! help with meals, parking, travel, and comfort services – like art, music, and pet therapy. Each year, thousands of families rely on support from philanthropy to ease the burden of care during their child’s stay. Brenner Children’s, now part of Atrium Health Levine’s Children is the only children’s hospital in Western North Carolina offering specialized pediatric cancer care, serving over 2,000 patients annually.
