Hidden Gems in Forsyth County: Part 6 – Enjoy the Ultimate Fall Family Adventure at Smith Hollow Farm

Fall is here, and it’s time to embrace all the Triad has to offer families! One hidden gem in Forsyth County that embodies fall family fun is Smith Hollow Farm. Our family loved visiting for the first time last year, and it will absolutely become an annual tradition to visit.

It’s a great place to spend a couple of hours or all day! There is so much to do for all ages. Read on for more details on what they have and tips to plan your trip there.

Activities for the Entire Family

They have a robust range of activities for all ages. Some of the offerings include:

  • Horse rides
  • Corn maze
  • Pumpkin patch
  • Two fire pits
  • Apple chukin’ slingshot
  • Archery
  • Outdoor games, like volleyball, horseshoes and tic tac toe
  • Animals, including cows, sheep and chickens
  • Bouncy animals for little ones
  • Tractor and fire truck train rides

These are merely some of the many things to do on the farm. When you first walk in, they have a map that details every single thing to do there. We took a photo of it on our phones and made sure to hit all the activities that worked best for our family.

Gorgeous Autumn Views

In addition to the extensive things to do, there are so many gorgeous spots with great views here. There are tons of photo opportunities. All the trees show off the many colors with their leaves changing at this farm.

Tips to Make the Most of Your Day

First, everything is outdoors, so plan accordingly when it comes to attire. You are not allowed to bring in outside food, but they do have concessions and picnic tables to enjoy food there.

There are two parts, the lower farm and the upper farm. The path that connects those two is a bit of the hill and beyond that the paths are bumpier. So, while it is technically stroller-accessible, it gets a little rough! If you have a sling for babies, then that is highly recommended over a stroller.

Those under two years old are free, but all others are charged the same $17 per person admission. They accept cash and credit/debit cards but do not have an ATM onsite. Most of their activities are included, so it’s well worth the cost. A few extras you can purchase there include concessions, horse rides, pumpkins and fire engine train rides.
