Dining Guide: Brunch at Davie Tavern

Davie Tavern is one of the best-kept secrets in the Triad…but not for long. Since it opened in 2016, Davie Tavern has become noted for high-quality, signature meals that are home cooked, from scratch, with the freshest ingredients. Forsyth Woman’s own Rosey, of Rosey’s Review, still maintains it has the best hamburger in the Triad!

But, beyond lunch and dinner, diners who visit on Sunday are in for a real treat. Available on Sunday from 10am-3pm, Sunday Brunch at Davie Tavern is a delicious option everyone in the family will love!

The Tavern Special is a feast of two eggs, two pancakes, grits or hash browns, toast or a biscuit, and a choice of bacon, sausage links or sausage patties. It’s a hearty breakfast that covers all the traditional bases of breakfast food. Breakfast fans will be delighted with the delicious assortment of options! (And, of course, if you can’t choose just one – the side menu is available and very affordable!)

Benedict lovers – brace yourself. There are three different types of eggs benedict to choose from – Traditional Eggs Benedict Crab Cakes Benedict and Filet Benedict. Thomas Henderson sampled the Filet Benedict during a recent visit and raved, “Anyone who loves a great steak will love the Filet Benedict. It’s my favorite. Perfectly cooked with a rich hollandaise! What’s not to love?”

Thomas’ assessment of the filet is fitting since Davie Tavern prides itself on the dry-aged steaks. It’s all done in-house, with meticulous care to ensure that every steak that’s served is packed with delicious flavor and perfectly cooked.

Thomas’ daughter, Jean, chimed in with her opinion on Davie Tavern omelets. “It was hard to choose – I love omelets, and Davie Tavern offers a Western, Ham and Cheese, Garden and Greek option. I went with the Greek omelet, and it was incredible. The eggs were perfectly cooked with a balance of that infamous bold, Greek flavor. With the generous serving of breakfast potatoes, it was so filling! I absolutely loved it!”

And, what would breakfast be without pancakes? Or waffles? Or French toast? Davie Tavern’s covered all the bases. Whether you’re looking for a carb fest, a quiche, a traditional breakfast or a build-your-own from Davie Tavern’s assortment of sides, brunch is growing in popularity at Davie Tavern! But don’t worry – the tavern takes reservations!

More good news…with summer coming up (translation – weddings, family reunions, graduations parties, etc.), Davie Tavern customers are thrilled to know catering is available! Davie Tavern can cater events for up to 400, and with a diverse menu designed to please small parties to a crowd, the catering branch is a guaranteed hit! And certainly, as any party planner knows, it’s so nice to leave the cooking up to someone else when there are so many details to attend to!

Make plans to stop in and visit Davie Tavern soon! Whether for lunch, dinner or Sunday brunch, you’ll love the fresh, scratch-made details that have been carefully planned for every bite.
