History of WinMock
Named for its location between Winston-Salem and Mocksville, WinMock was once a fully functioning dairy farm. Over 80 years ago S. Clay Williams, then president of R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, purchased some land along the Yadkin River. He envisioned the land as a family retreat. He also used it as an opportunity to start a dairy farm; some of the buildings built for the farm are still standing today. Over the years, the farm evolved and changed as the surrounding towns and infrastructure encroached upon the land. Eventually, the dairy farm stopped production, and the buildings were left neglected. It wasn’t until 2011, when Wayne Thomas heard about the space, that new life was given to WinMock. He fully restored three of the original buildings—the dairy barn, the bottling plant, and the granary. Since its restoration, it has been listed on the United States Register of Historic Places, and was renamed WinMock at Kinderton.

The Space
The Loft
The Loft isn’t just a beautiful wedding venue; it is the perfect space for your corporate or non-profit event. This high-tech venue includes complimentary wi-fi, on-site parking and can host up to 275 guests. You receive top-of-the-line service that includes unlimited consultation for your event with a professional and knowledgeable staff, including a dedicated meeting concierge. A custom layout, design consultation and setup, and a breakdown of your event are also included. On the first floor of the loft building, there are several smaller rooms available to be set up for classroom spaces or meeting rooms that are ideal if you need to host breakout sessions. The Granary
The Granary is a quaint, intimate space that is perfect for your next social event. This venue can host up to 80 guests and is frequently used for smaller parties. It is ideal for anniversary, birthday, and graduation parties, as well as baby and bridal showers. The space can be arranged in a variety of ways to make it feel inviting and to accommodate the size of your party.
A Connection to the Community
Part of the WinMock at Kinderton mission is to serve the local community. They do this by helping the community celebrate milestones and serving local missions and causes. Providence is a division of Second Harvest Food Bank that works to provide long-term solutions to hunger and poverty.
