History of WinMock
Named for its location between Winston-Salem and Mocksville, WinMock was once a fully functioning dairy farm. Over 80 years ago S. Clay Williams, then president of R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, purchased some land along the Yadkin River. He envisioned the land as a family retreat. He also used it as an opportunity to start a dairy farm; some of the buildings built for the farm are still standing today. Over the years, the farm evolved and changed as the surrounding towns and infrastructure encroached upon the land. Eventually, the dairy farm stopped production, and the buildings were left neglected. It wasn’t until 2011, when Wayne Thomas heard about the space, that new life was given to WinMock. He fully restored three of the original buildings—the dairy barn, the bottling plant, and the granary. Since its restoration, it has been listed on the United States Register of Historic Places, and was renamed WinMock at Kinderton.

The Granary is a quaint, intimate space that is perfect for your next social event. This venue can host up to 80 guests and is frequently used for smaller parties.
