“A Black Odyssey” by nationally acclaimed artist and North Carolina native Romare Bearden is on view at Reynolda House Museum of American Art. Winston-Salem residents can see the exhibit (usually $10 for adults) for free this week before it heads out on its national tour. The vibrant works of watercolor and collage depict Homer’s The Odyssey interpreted by Bearden with an all-black cast of characters. This is the first time the collection has been viewable in its (almost) entirety outside of New York. Guests will be asked to provide their zip code and email address.
